Delete account and data

Send an email to henri.irmscher@gmail.com and include your anonymous ID. We erase everything and confirm it to you.

Why there is no button in the app

Mr. Viral has no user account. There is no email address and no password, only a random ID on your device. That is why deletion currently runs through an email to us. We handle every request by hand.

Step 1: find your anonymous ID

Without that ID we cannot find your data. It is the only link between you and what sits on our server.

Open Mr. Viral.
Go to Profil.
Scroll all the way down to the Konto section.
There you will find Deine anonyme ID. Tap it and it is copied to your clipboard.

It looks like a long string with hyphens, for example 3f2b1c8a-9d44-4e17-b0f5-71a2c6e83b90.

Already deleted the app?

Then the ID is gone, for us too. We cannot match your data any more and, for security reasons, cannot delete it either — we would not know whose data we were touching (Art. 11(2) GDPR). The data is then out of reach for everyone, for you and for other users alike, because access hangs on that ID. If you want to be sure, delete the data before you remove the app.

Step 2: write the email

Send an email to henri.irmscher@gmail.com with the subject Delete my data.

It does not matter which email address you write from. We do not store your address and use it only to reply. Once confirmed, we delete the correspondence.

Step 3: what happens then

We erase within 30 days, usually much faster:

all of your analyses, with score, breakdown and AI text,
all preview images from your video analyses,
any video files still sitting in our storage,
your profile details (display name, bio, TikTok handle),
your usage counters,
the anonymous user itself, that is, the ID.

You then get a short confirmation by email.

What we cannot delete

Your subscription. It runs through Apple or Google, not through us. Cancel it in your app store's settings or you keep paying. Details are in the Terms of Use.
Purchase data at Apple and Google. That belongs to your store account and is subject to their retention periods.
Technical server logs. They contain IP addresses and timestamps, but no content. They expire automatically after a short time and cannot be filtered individually by ID.
Data at Google Gemini. Nothing stays there permanently: we delete video files right after the analysis, and texts are not stored permanently.

Deleting the app is not enough

If you simply remove Mr. Viral from your device, your access is gone but the data on the server is not. Nobody can retrieve it any more, but it has not been erased. For a real deletion we need the email.

Hiding individual analyses

In your history you can swipe an entry away. That hides it but does not delete it from the server. The entry stays there as a counter so that the monthly allowance cannot be reset by deleting and re-analysing. The app tells you this before you confirm.

If an entry really has to disappear from the server, the email above is the only way. Mention whether we should delete everything or only specific analyses.

Getting your data

Under Art. 15 and Art. 20 GDPR you have the right to access and to a copy of your data. Write to the same email address with the subject Data request and your ID. You get your data as a readable file. Free of charge, within one month.
